Welcome to the Mohawk Hudson Chapter of the Grant Professionals Association. Our goal is to provide affordable professional development opportunities to grant writers from the Capital District of New York State and beyond. We offer trainings and discussions four to six times a year. Meetings are free. Workshops generally include nominal fees for both members and non-members.
The Mohawk Hudson Chapter of GPA began in 2006, thanks to the inspiration of Brigitte Koziol. As an experienced grant writer, Brigitte knew the value of networking with her peers and meeting face-to-face to share ideas and concerns and develop friendships with colleagues. Working with The Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region, Brigitte reached out to other grant writers in the area, many of whom shared Brigitte's desire to forge professional relationships with others in the field.
Those interested parties became the chapter's founding members, and slowly we built the infrastructure needed to form an official GPA chapter. Today, several of the initial members are still active, although some have reduced their participation due to job changes. Our chapter is now 27 members strong. We look forward to continued work together as we grow from our shared experiences.
