GPA has a growing international and affiliate chapter membership of over 3,100 active members, all of whom have an interest in the grants profession. GPA members come from all sectors of the international grants community. They represent education, government, the nonprofit sector
and private enterprise. They include grant developers, managers, funders, administrators, planners and evaluators. All promote and support the mission and philosophy of the association.
Membership is open to any individual with an interest in, and commitment to, the grants profession.

Annual Membership Dues Levels:
Membership is limited to one year and stays with the individual should they leave the organization on record. Memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Professional Membership - $220 Professional Membership is available for individuals that do not fall in any of the following categories: Student, Entry Level, Retiree or Legacy. Individuals who are Professional members are able to run for a position on the GPA Board of Directors, vote, volunteer and receive full member benefits.
Student Membership - $92 Student Membership is available for persons who are enrolled as full-time undergraduate students at a college or university (12 credit hours) or who are enrolled in a graduate program. Documentation of the enrollment must be submitted with the membership application. Student members are able to run for a position on the GPA Board of Directors, vote, volunteer and receive full member benefits.
Entry Level Membership - $160 Entry
Level Membership is a category for persons who have been in the grants profession for two years or less. Membership in this category is limited to one year. After one year, the member will be moved to the Professional membership category
and pay the appropriate dues at their renewal date in order to stay in good standing with GPA. Entry Level members are eligible to run for a position on the GPA Board of Directors, vote, volunteer and receive full member
benefits. Individuals who join GPA as an Entry Level member may be audited to verify membership eligibility in this category, documentation in the form of a resume and/or letter from your employer may be requested by GPA
Headquarters to certify that you are eligible for this membership type.
Retiree Membership - $92 Seeking retirement soon? Stay connected with your community and use your expertise to mentor new grant professionals by renewing at the Retiree Membership rate. GPA is happy to maintain our relationships with our members for the long term, even into their retirement. And we know that many retired association professionals want to keep in touch with colleagues. The Retiree Membership is a category for persons who are not working as a grant professional in any capacity [i.e., either part-time or as a consultant]. See the requirements and benefits below.
Requirements: 1. Members must hold an active GPA membership for one year immediately prior to requesting retired status. 2. Minimum of fifty-five (55) years of age. 3. Permanent retirement from the grants profession, including but not limited to any of the following: grant research, grant proposal development, grant consulting, grant management, or grant administration. Member must be completely retired from the profession and place of employment and is no longer seeking gainful employment of any kind. Member may continue to work on a voluntary/pro-bono basis. 4. May not be employed by a company that is classified as a vendor or consultant to the grants profession. 5. Upon return to the grants profession, member must change to another membership category (other than retiree). 6. Member retains the option to change membership category at any time.
Benefits/Privileges: 1. Retired members have voting privileges. 2. Retired members may serve on committees. 3. Retired members are eligible for all GPA member benefits and registration rates, including the Annual Conference. 4. Retired members can not hold an elected position on the GPA Board of Directors.
Special Case - Retired-Legacy Members: 1. Legacy members who request status may select the category Retired-Legacy by calling the GPA Headquarters. 2. The dues for the Retired-Legacy membership category shall be waived for the lifetime of the member.
Legacy Membership -$50 Legacy Membership is only available to those who have joined GPA prior to December, 1999. Individuals must keep their Legacy membership current to receive the Legacy membership rate. Legacy members are able to run for a position on the GPA Board of Directors, vote, volunteer and receive full member benefits.
Organizational Discount - $180 per person GPA provides a discount for organizations that have two or more members who join. Memberships are on an individual basis. Each member will need to contact GPA's Membership Director for the discount code to join as a Professional member at a discount.
