Grant Professionals Class of Distinguished Fellows
Sponsored by: Grant Professionals AssociationGrant Professionals Certification Institute, and Grant Professionals Foundation

Background and Purpose
The Grant Professionals’ Class of Distinguished Fellows was founded in 2018 to recognize and preserve the history of professional grant proposal writers, grant managers, and grant development professionals. This Class of Distinguished Fellows strives to keep alive inductees’ tradition and spirit and to honor each year those persons who, through distinguished achievement, have excelled in their professions and volunteer roles.

The Class of Distinguished Fellows nominees shall include individuals who have raised the level of awareness in the grant profession through their distinguished achievement and excellence or through their contributions to the grant profession in other fields of work. These individuals may include students, mentors/coaches, grant administrators, reviewers, grant professionals, grant trainers, or distinguished volunteers. Nominees may be either active in the field or retired. Nominees must exemplify the highest standards of ethical conduct, moral character, and generous and fair behavior concerning the treatment of others.

Selection Criteria

All nominees will be judged on their significant and/or long-term contributions to the grant profession. While many have served their community or profession over a long and distinguished career, their accomplishments must have been worthy of national recognition for them to be considered. Longevity, without meaningful national impact, does not constitute appropriate credentials for Class of Distinguished Fellows consideration.

The Class of Distinguished Fellows Screening Committee may consider a nominee's total record of contribution to the grant profession in determining eligibility for candidacy. The Screening Committee also may waive the minimum years of service requirement when exceptional circumstances such as injury, illness or death have prevented an otherwise worthy candidate from meeting the requirement.
