Chapters afford our membership an opportunity to be a part of GPA at the local level.
- Chapters offer our membership a local venue in which to network and to exchange ideas, methodologies and resources.
- Chaptering ensures local involvement and self-determination of its members.
- By working together at both the local and the international level, we can better move our profession forward.
To find out if there is a Chapter near you, see map below. Check for meetings and special events on the GPA Calendar found by clicking HERE.
Please Note: In order to join a Chapter, you MUST have a Primary GPA Membership (ie. Professional, Entry-Level, Student, etc.). If you are joining GPA as a new member, you can select the chapter(s) you wish to join during the application process. If you are already a member of GPA and would like to join a chapter, please email Shelley Wales, Chapter Relations Manager, at shelley@grantprofessionals.org to be invoiced. Annual Chapter membership is $25 USD for all chapters except for Central Florida ($15), South Florida ($30), and Northern Arizona ($10).

*Chapter dues vary and are set by each chapter. They are to be paid at the same time a member pays their professional dues. Currently, the professional dues are $225.00 per year.
The Basic Steps to Forming a Chapter:
- Determine that there are no other existing chapters in your geographic area.
- Contact GPA Headquarters with your interest.
- Start meeting with 10-20 interested Grant Professionals Association Members in your area to determine interest in forming an official chapter. (GPA chapter members must also be GPA members).
- Call a meeting of interested/prospective members with a GPA Representative to discuss next steps. The meeting can be held face-to-face or via electronic means.
- Identify 3-5 people willing to take on volunteer roles for the next 1-3 years in order to build a leadership succession plan.
- Hold the official formation meeting to start the chartering process. At this meeting a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer is selected. The group also adopts the Chapter Bylaws, select a chapter name, establishes operating procedures,
and establishes a meeting schedule for the next twelve months.
- Submit the Chapter Charter application and other documents to GPA Headquarters.
- Enjoy the camaraderie and volunteer opportunities of running a GPA Chapter!
