Considerations for Board of Director Appointment

GPA Board of Director's Criteria:

As outlined in Article 6 Nomination and Election of Directors, Section 4 of the GPA bylaws and the Board Assurances:

  • Must have been a member of the Association for a minimum of two (2) years prior to nomination and have paid dues during that time.

  • Should have demonstrated previous involvement in GPA (involvement is not limited to but can include: serving on a committee, presenting at a GPA conference, serving as a regional representative or chapter officer, or volunteering during a GPA conference); previous experience in leadership positions within nonprofit organizations is desirable.

  • Must remain a member in good standing if elected as a Director.

  • Shall abide by the Code of Ethics of the Association.

  • Will review the Letter of Assurances indicating their willingness to abide by the Articles of Incorporation, the bylaws and all standing rules.  

  • Shall work to advance GPA as the authority in the grant field.

  • Shall agree to allocate sufficient time to conduct committee work, prepare and attend Board meetings, and respond to others in a timely and professional manner.
