About

About the American Association of Grant Professionals
The American Association of Grant Professionals (AAGP), a nonprofit membership association, builds and supports an international community of grant professionals committed to serving the greater public good by practicing the highest ethical and professional standards. Founded in 1997, AAGP has grown to nearly 4000 active members representing 49 states, Puerto Rico, Canada, and the United Kingdom. More than 36 chapters have formed in the past four years.

About the AAGP Annual Conference
AAGP’s annual conference has gained a well-earned reputation as the most comprehensive educational and professional growth event available for those committed to excellence in the practice of grantsmanship. Each year, conference participants enjoy high-quality workshops on a wide variety of topics presented by the most experienced and knowledgeable experts in their respective fields.

The conference draws grant proposal writers, grant managers, nonprofit administrators, and consultants of all skill levels, in all areas of practice, from arts to education to homeland security. AAGP anticipates that the 2010 conference will attract more than 700 attendees from across the country and internationally.

Proposal Review

AAGP Conference Proposal Review

The AAGP Individual Proposal Review offers you a 45-minute one-to-one session with a grant professional who will evaluate one of your proposals during the 12th Annual AAGP Conference. Review sessions offer constructive criticism from a grant professional to a person seeking feedback and critique of a grant proposal.  AAGP Professionals will review your proposal before the conference, and then offer helpful written and verbal feedback to strengthen your grant writing skills and improve your proposal. Every effort is made to match reviewers and reviewees based on their fields of practice and years of experience. Fees from the Proposal Review service ($25 for members, $75 for non-members) go into a scholarship fund that provides assistance to grant professionals wishing to attend the next AAGP Conference.

AAGP is seeking volunteer Proposal Reviewers to help with this process. Reviewers must be members of AAGP and, therefore, agree to adhere to the AAGP Code of Ethics. Reviewers meet minimum qualifications of having actively written grant proposals for a period of five or more years, having submitted more than 50 grant proposals, and having acted as a compensated or volunteer reviewer for a nonprofit or governmental organization within the past three years. Please contact Stacy Poncelow, Proposal Review Coordinator, at poncelow@psdschools.org if you are interested in helping this year.
