  • Have you ever wished you were a part of a local network of grants professionals?
  • Do you know of other grants professionals who you feel would benefit from GPA?
  • Would you like to see a local chapter of grant professionals start in your area?
  • Are you looking for a chance to get more involved with your profession and your professional association?

If the answer to any of these questions is a resounding “YES,” please read on to learn more about GPA’s chaptering opportunities.

GPA believes that the heart of the organization lies in its chapters. Chapters afford our membership an opportunity to be a part of GPA at the local level. Chapters offer our membership a local venue in which to network and to exchange ideas, methodologies and resources. Chaptering ensures local involvement and self-determination of its members, and guides the National Office toward an organizational platform that truly reflects its membership and the profession. Local chapters and the national office share a common goal and support each others' initiatives. By working together at both the local and the national level, we can better move our profession forward.

In the spring of 2004, Birmingham Alabama became the first city to form a local chapter. Within the following year, seventeen local communities followed suit by forming a chapter in their area. Today, this rapid growth is showing no signs of slowing down. It is GPA’s goal to have GPA chapters in every state.
